The meeting on 19th November at Scottish Parliament was particularly interesting in that we heard from Catrina Dalrymple, Head of Policy COPFS and Malcolm Graham, Assistant Police Constable Police Scotland. Catrina informed us that they are reviewing their training and outlined the process that OPFS follows when survivors come forward to say that there has been a crime. She also gave us interesting statistics in terms of prosecution of sexual crimes and that there had been an increase in this area. Malcolm spoke about new sexual abuse special investigation teams that will be set up locally in different areas around Scotland. He told us that the police respond to both historic and current CSA in the same way. Both speakers gave hope for the future and it felt like there was a positive move forward.
